In GTA 5 Story Mode, it's possible to buy Businesses that make income for you and buy Garages, Slips, Helipads and Hangars where you can store your vehicles in. These are called "Properties".
Properties price range from $30,000 to $150,000,000 and it is wise to hold up from buying them at the start of the game just so you can have enough money to invest in stocks and buy all of them like it's nothing.

How to buy a Property
To buy a property, simply go to its location and interact with the Sign close to it.
