There are 4 Heists in GTA 5 Story Mode where it is possible to choose who you do the job with. By unlocking specific characters and working with them, you can make the jobs easier or more rewarding.

Below are all the characters you can unlock as possible crew members.

Packie McReary

Expertise: Gunman
Cut: 12%

You can meet Packie McReary early in the game in a random event where he robs a store near Franklin's house with his friend but won't have a gateway car.
He will ask you to take him to safety for a cut of the money.

If the event is not triggered, get away from the location and come back again.

Rickie Lukens

Expertise: Hacker
Cut: 4%

After completing the mission "Friend Request" for Lester, wait for Rickie's call while playing as Michael before starting to prepare for the Jewel Store heist and he will become a crew member option.

Chef

Expertise: Gunman
Cut: 12%

Wait for his text while playing as Trevor before starting to prepare for the Paleto Score.

Taliana Martinez

Expertise: Driver
Cut: 5%

You can meet Taliana while playing as any character in a random event where she is severely injured by the side of the road.
She will ask you to take her to her people as fast as you can. Once you do so, she is unlocked as a possible crew member.

You can get Taliana before you start to prepare for the Bureau Raid.

If the event is not triggered, get away from the location and come back again.
